Another fact about Vince Felty and his background. His grandfather was a Choctaw/Seminole Indian who was born on the Trail of Tears and who "escaped" from the reservation with his wife and kids during the Cherokee Run (running OUT of the Indian Nations in the confusion). His family then homesteaded in the Kansas/Nebraska territory.

Vince's relationship and love of horses probably comes partly from this grandfather.

The Choctaw were the first Indians to leave the SouthEast (voluntarily)during the Indian Removal Act with the treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. But, our family was the last to go with the forcible removal of the Seminole, Creek, and Choctaw who had fought against the USA in the Creek/Red Stick War.
